Establishment of the faculty for new technologies. The president of  Tehran University School of Medicine announced the establishment of the faculty for new technologies. He added " It is necessary to build up scientific and technological capability in the Islamic Republic of Iran commensurate with the needs of the country, this faculty will play a vital role in medical sciences and will represent  a symbol in the interactions between fields".

The year for the revision of the pattern of consumption The Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei in a New Year Day statement described the new Iranian Year 1388 as a crucial year, adding that in light of the vitality of rationality in consuming the country's resources, he considers the new Iranian year as the year for the revision of the pattern of consumption nationwide. The Islamic Revolution Leader said all the Iranians especially the authorities and personalities in this New Year must follow the crucial and vital theme of revision of the pattern of consumption in every domain so that through a correct use of resources, a notable  changeover  to the best would emerge within the nation.
